Dear Partners in Christ, If you could reach every youth in school in Austin with the Gospel of Jesus, how would you do it? It is a tough thing to do, especially with the “separation of church” laws. As adults we can’t walk into a school, sit down with youth and share the Gospel with actions and a Bible. The law of “separation of church and state” does, however, allow students to carry a Bible in school, share the Gospel, and “pray in school”.  The Key Is Equipping Youth! In December, Youth For Christ in Austin graduated it’s first four students who are equipped to not only share the Gospel, but also disciple other students. Over the last year and a half, four students have been committed to studying a discipling process based on “Discipleship Essentials”, by Greg Ogden. One of the things the students said they enjoyed the most was “leading the sessions as they learned.” Last week we started a second generation group, two boys and six girls are being lead by the discipled students. In a year or two the four original students and eight new students could lead the third generation of students. Multiplying each year, hundreds of students will be involved! Please consider investing in youth in your sphere of influence. Who could you invest your life in by sharing your faith? I would enjoy having a conversation with you about discipling students! Pray for the generations of students and how you might get involved. Also please be in prayer for Austin Youth For Christ as we expand our outreach within Mower County. We are actively fundraising, networking and praying for outreach starting in southeast Mower County (Lyle, LeRoy and Adams). Blessings, John Engelstad Austin Area Youth For Christ Director
