Friends in Christ,
We read in Revelation 1:8 &18 (NIV),
“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty… I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.”
Last week we had several high school boys come into The Anchor to play ping-pong and eat pizza. It is a hoot watching them play because they don’t keep score very well, and they argue about every point, in a fun way. They have been coming every Thursday for a month and it’s been great getting to know them.
We took a break from ping-pong to read John 19, where Jesus is questioned by Pilate, who found Him innocent yet sentenced Him to be flogged, beaten and crucified. The boys had question after question. “Who is Pilate? What is flogged? Why did Jesus die for us?” We talked about creation, the fall, redemption, the next coming of Jesus. The questions kept coming by the boys, “What is heaven? We are saved by grace through faith, what is faith?”
The beginning of faith is opening up our hearts to Jesus’ death for our sins, receiving his forgiveness, and receiving his Spirit. Three boys prayed to receive Jesus. The questions kept coming. As they left, they said, “Happy Easter and we will see you next week.”
What an Easter it is when we embrace Jesus.
Three weeks ago, we were able to start using
our digital sign on the front of the Anchor facing the high school. Thank you to our donors who paid for the sign, to our volunteer who is updating the sign weekly, and to Precision Signs for installing the sign.

Thank you also to everyone who is encouraging us, supporting us financially and for your faithful prayers! They are being answered.
Thank You, John Englestad Austin Area Youth for Christ Director
